Early this morning . . . the Mole Hunter!
We decided to head to Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens early this morning and before leaving I did a quick check on the owls. The female was in her usual spot in the Evergreen Oak . . . and the male was on another branch with a half-eaten Common Mole Rat. She was showing no interest . . . and he didn’t look like sharing anyway, but it certainly looks like his hunting skills are rising to the coming challenge of being the sole hunter/provider for the major part of the up-coming nesting season.
Holding thumbs!
