She’s in the box!! (a belated post due to us not having power for 49 hours)
I’m not sure if it was the snow, or the bitter cold that followed – but on Tuesday morning I heard Pied Crows calling loudly as they repeatedly circled the building. Could it be . . . . . ?
Later, when I checked the nest box I could see the female was inside. When she first moves in she normally spends the first day or so standing up and looking around. Looking up at the nest from the mound behind the Centre, I could see that her doing exactly that.
Yesterday, I climbed the ladder to get a closer look and she was lying down up against the inner side of the box and looking settled. Now the wait to see when (and if) she lays!
