APPOINTMENT: Project Manager (Two year fixed contract position)
Enthusiastic and Passionate about Youth and Environment……Dedicated to "Green" skills development and inspiring young                                                          people to play an active role in environmental matters.
Purpose of the job: To effectively manage Youth Environmental Service Project, to meet business/client needs. Acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills within agreed parameters of costs, timescales and quality.
Key outputs: Project initiation, Project planning, Resource Planning, Execution, Tracking and Control, Project Communication and Reporting, Project Administration, Client liaison, Project Closeout, Financial Management, People Management.
Requirements: A relevant graduate degree or qualification (NQF level 7) in the Environmental Management/Environmental Education/ Management of Economic Development Projects or equivalent qualification. A minimum of five years’ experience in the field of projects and programme management, of which three years must have been at a supervisory level. Experience in management of Socio Economic Development/Environmental Projects. Experience in working in environmental sector. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Understanding of Public Sector and Public Finance Management act and its regulations. Excellent report writing skills as well as people management skills. This position is based at the Delta Environmental Centre in Delta Park, Johannesburg.
The appointment is with immediate effect.
 

Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

To take full responsibility for the implementation of Project Business plan commitments

Provide Project Management support to DEC
Establish, implement and manage operational governance and risk management processes in the context of organizational policy with regards to project management.
Ensure that financial administration delivery processes comply with all internal control, policies and governance standards and report on any deviations
Assist in the development of project plans, time lines and cashflows using methodology as accepted by the organization.
Liaise with DEA Project Manager on all Project related matters
Manage Project Officers
Manage relationship with Project Stakeholders
Develop new project partnerships
Facilitate Project Advisory Committee meetings
Facilitate Project induction activities
Manage sourcing and implementation of project service providers
Assist with fundraising for exit opportunities
Work closely with project accountant and Training team
Develop project monthly reports
Attend to all project queries
Making sure that Occupational Safety is observed all the time during project implementation.
