Thirty three days old . . . and slow progress!
Because of the tiny size of the new chick, I’ve been increasing the supplementary feeding. Three mice yesterday morning; another three this morning . . . and four just now. I can’t be sure how much the chick is getting, and how much is being eaten by the female – but hopefully this will help the chick grow faster.
The two photos clearly show the differences in size and feather development between the new chick and its older siblings at more or less the same age. It certainly has a lot of catching up to do!
