I managed to capture a video of the owls mating yesterday evening. The settings are slightly overexposed – so it looks a lot lighter than it was at the time, but the video is ‘real time’, not sped up.
Usually, there is calling between the pair before mating, but what you see in the video is pretty typical of what is going on between these two at the moment. Not normal . . . and probably not a good sign.
